The women’s hockey team concludes its regular season road schedule when it travels to New England this weekend to take on Brown tonight and Yale tomorrow afternoon. The Red is 1-0-1 on the season against the Bears and Bulldogs, beating the Bears (2-18-4, 0-15-3 ECAC) 5-0 and managing a tie versus the Bulldogs (9-13-3, 7-10-1 ECAC) on a goal with 13 seconds to play by senior forward Melanie Jue.

The women’s hockey team had a successful, undefeated weekend consisting of matchups with two conference opponents. Quinnipiac and Princeton both traveled to Lynah Rink and were unable to score any goals on Cornell sophomore goaltender, Amanda Mazzotta. These two shutouts for the goalie set a new University record for number of shutouts in a single season, and contributed to her being named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week.

The regular season for women’s ice hockey is drawing to a close, with only six games remaining, and the Red is striving to earn a No. 2 spot in the ECAC. Playing well is pivotal for Cornell during these next three weekends; this will be the first time the team earns a position in the top-4 of the conference, and ranking second would boost the team’s morale tremendously. The games start this weekend, as Cornell hosts Quinnipiac at Lynah Rink tonight at 7 p.m., followed by another home game tomorrow afternoon against Princeton.

The women’s hockey team travels to St. Lawrence and then Clarkson this weekend for two crucial ECAC games. The Red (10-7-4 overall, 9-1-4 ECAC) currently sits in second place in the ECAC, one point behind leader Clarkson (17-5-3 overall, 11-1-1 ECAC).

The women’s hockey team (10-7-4, 9-1-4 ECAC Hockey) saw its rank drop from sixth to eight over the break, despite managing decent game play and retaining its top-10 standing. Cornell is still in contention for the top spot in the ECAC, trailing Clarkson by one conference point.

Though the fall semester is coming to a close, the No. 6 women’s hockey team still has an intense schedule of playing before classes start up again in the spring. The Red (7-4-1, 6-1-1 ECAC) will be playing some challenging ECAC Hockey as well as non-league games between this time, including games against Syracuse, Providence and Colgate.

The women’s hockey team took a step back from ECAC Hockey competition this weekend to split a two-game home series with the Purple Eagles of Niagara.

This weekend, the No. 7 women’s hockey team will venture on the last road trip for the semester that, according to head coach Doug Derraugh, will be one of the toughest of the season. The Red (5-3-0, 5-1-0 ECAC Hockey) will first face the No. 10 Princeton Tigers (5-2-1, 4-1-1) tonight at 7 p.m., followed by a game at Quinnipiac (6-4-2, 4-1-1) tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The women’s hockey team, fresh off of four straight wins versus ECAC Hockey opponents, faces another test this weekend when league foes Clarkson and St. Lawrence come to town. The Red (4-2-0 overall, 4-0-0 ECACH) will play Clarkson (11-1-1, 5-0-0) tonight at 7 p.m. at Lynah Rink. The Golden Knights are currently first in the ECACH and rank No. 2 nationally.

The No. 10 women’s hockey team is up to a four-game winning streak after a weekend away from Ithaca. The Red (4-2, 4-0 ECAC Hockey) first played a shutout game against Union (2-8, 0-3) with a score of 4-0 on Friday, followed by a 3-1 victory over Rensselaer (3-6-3, 1-2-1) the next day.
