The Cornell Law School was back in the blogosphere yesterday, and not for a 52-percent jump in applications.

Nope, this time it was the use of a certain character on NBC's The Office that garnered attention from several media outlets. Above the Law blog, Business Insider's law review and even Entertainment Weekly caught on to Andy Bernard's grinning mug and weighed in accordingly.

MetaEzra, an alumni blog about Cornell, called for swift punitive action at the Law School.

TMZ's blog picked up on it, too.

Update: The Law School appears to have removed Bernard's image from its website.

LMAO!!

What could they possible have been thinking??? Yeah, it's funny, but funny in the sense that I'm laughing -AT- Cornell Law, not with them.

If Cornell Law really wants to play on this, as Dean Geiger phrased it, "We're a Law School that doesn't take ourselves too seriously." then how about following up with some mug shots of real alumni who have been convicted of felonies and/or disbarred??

Now -that- would be funny!! ;-)
