Hello everybody, and welcome back to Cornell for the start of another semester. The Ithaca weather gods must have known that it was orientation week, as temperatures have noticeably cooled down compared to what they were just recently. Last night we were well below the average low temperature for Ithaca this time of year. The week will get off to a tricky start as a stalled frontal boundary to our south creates unsettled conditions. While most of the precipitation will be to the south, there is a slight chance that a shower or two could reach us. This pattern will stick around until Tuesday and lead right into a summer-esque pattern for the rest of the week. Expect hot and humid conditions from Wednesday until at least Friday night, with the chance of a thunderstorm. Enjoy the “calm before the storm,” where the “calm” is orientation week and the “storm” is class awaiting us on Thursday.
