House music sensation Avicii has agreed to play the Homecoming Weekend concert at Cornell this fall. The Swedish D.J. and producer, known for his radio friendly mega-hit “Levels," will perform Sept. 22, according to a schedule of confirmed tour dates posted on the D.J.’s website [8] Tuesday.
Born Tim Bergling, Avicii has been a leader in the electronic dance music community since breaking into the scene in 2010 with singles including “Seek Bromance” and “My Feelings for You.” He also produced Flo Rida’s stadium anthem “Good Feeling” and was featured on Leona Lewis’ single “Collide,” which sampled his 2011 track “Penguin.”
Avicii has headlined the Ultra Music Festival in Miami in March and has performed at many college campuses across the country, including a stop at Syracuse University last fall.
His appearance on campus will come at the back end of a nationwide tour that includes stops at Radio City Music Hall — marking the first DJ to headline a show at the distinguished New York City venue — and the famed Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas. Avicii will also play at the Turning Stone Casino in Syracuse and the Broome County Arena in Binghamton in the weeks leading up to the concert at Cornell.
