SOFTBALL | Red Prepares to Take Tigers

This coming weekend, the Cornell softball team looks to improve upon division standings in a four game series against Ivy League rival Princeton University. The Red will play Princeton at home at the Niemand Robison Softball Field at 12:30 pm on Saturday.

The equestrian team went out with a bang after its victory at the Ivy League Championships in Hanover, N.H. on April 13. Cornell took first place with 37 points, just three points ahead of Princeton. The squad also triumphed over Ivy rivals Brown and Dartmouth, who placed third and fourth with 33 and 29 points respectively.

The Cornell men’s heavyweight rowing team is coming off of a narrow defeat in which it finished second in the Stagg Points Plate race behind Navy but finished ahead of Syracuse. This weekend, the Red will travel to New Haven, Conn. to take on Yale and Princeton, and will attempt to bring home the Carnegie Cup for the second year in a row.

The match will feature current players against graduated players, and serve as a send-off to the athletes in the senior class.

The women’s rowing team came home with a strong finish at this past weekend’s Clemson Invitational in Clemson, S.C.  The Clemson Invite, hosted by the No. 14-ranked Tigers on Lake Hartwell,  welcomed opponents who are currently ranked in the CRCA Top-20.

GOLF | Red Finishes Seventh in Tourney

Cornell’s golf team was in Purchase, N.Y., this past weekend playing in the Century Intercollegiate Tournament. Yale — the host school – paced the eight team field, finishing with a combined team score of +32 to place first, while the Red finished seventh with a team score of +59, only 27 strokes behind Yale.
