- Biography
I was the photography editor of the Sun from March 2009 until March 2010. I joined the Sun in mid-September 2006 as a contributing photographer and I made staff about one month later. About one month into the 2007 fall semester, I was promoted to the rank of senior photographer. At the end of February 2009, I was elected photography editor.
Some of my favorite / most memorable Sun assignments:
- Taking photos of Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan, while kneeling at the opposite end of the table he was sitting at. My camera had to be inspected by the U.S. Secret Service before I entered that room.
- Taking photos of a flash mob on Cornell's Ho Plaza while having no idea what was happening all around me.
- Taking photos of Cornell men's ice hockey games at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and Colgate University and witnessing the intensity and dedication of the Lynah Faithful, even outside of Ithaca.
- Going on a ten day assignment to three cities in China with three Sun editors to learn about Cornell's ties to the country, to meet with students and faculty at Chinese universities, and to meet with representatives from Chinese newspapers and magazines.
