Yankees vs Twins Wild Card Highlights 2017 HD

New York Yankees vs Minnesota Twins AL Wild Card Game Highlights. Full Game highlights. After Luis Severino’s postseason debut couldn’t have gone worse, the Yankees crawled out of a three-run, first-inning ditch and posted an 8-4 AL wild-card victory over the Twins on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

The come-from-behind win sends the Yankees into the ALDS against the Indians with Game 1 of the best-of-five series set for Thursday in Cleveland.

Trevor Bauer, and not AL Cy Young candidate Corey Kluber, will open for the Tribe. Sonny Gray is the logical choice for the Yankees, but manager Joe Girardi wasn’t ready to commit to that before Tuesday night’s game.

The Yankees went 2-5 against the Indians during the regular season; losing all three in The Bronx and splitting a four-game series in Cleveland.

Gregorius hit a three-run homer in the first off Ervin Santana that erased a 3-0 deficit. Gardner’s two-out homer in the second off Santana put the Yankees ahead, 4-3. With the Yankees leading, 5-4, in the fourth Judge laced a line drive over the left-field wall to up the advantage to 7-4. Aaron Hicks drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh to make it 8-4. Chad Green replaced Severino in the first inning and the Twins leading 3-0, thanks to homers from Brian Dozier and Eddie Rosario.
Green allowed a run, a hit, two walks and struck out four. Robertson took over with the bases loaded and one out in the third and got away with just a run. In a career-high 3 ¹/₃ shutout innings, Robertson allowed three hits, a walk and fanned five. Tommy Kahnle added 2 ¹/₃ perfect innings.

Aroldis Chapman recorded the final three outs in a non-save situation.

Severino’s fifth pitch of the game was hit over the left-field wall by Dozier. Three batters later, Rosario hit a two-run homer. A single by Eduardo Escobar and Max Kepler’s double was enough for Girardi to call for Green after Severino faced six batters and retired one.
Gardner opened the bottom of the first with a walk and Judge’s single to center moved Gardner to third. After Gary Sanchez fouled out, Gregorius sent a ball deep into the seats beyond the right-field fence to tie the score, 3-3.

Santana retired two of the next three batters but needed 42 pitches to record three outs.

With the Twins tying the score, 4-4, in the top of the third manager Paul Molitor replaced Santana with Jose Berrios. He was greeted with Sanchez’s leadoff double. Gregorius failed to advance Sanchez by striking out and Starlin Castro repeated the exercise. Greg Bird then put the Yankees ahead with a single to right that scored Sanchez for a 5-4 advantage.

Gardner blooped a one-out single into left field in the fourth and trotted home on Judge’s line-drive homer into the first row of seats in left off Berrios that extended the Yankees’ lead to 7-4.
